On March 2, 1836, with the Alamo under siege, delegates from across Texas met and declared their independence from Mexico. Various flags have flown over Texas – Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States, and the Confederacy.

Greet old friends and meet new ones as the convention kicks off at the Fort Worth Water Gardens, a beautiful and refreshing oasis adjacent to the Fort Worth Convention Center. Designed by Phillip Johnson, the Fort Worth Water Gardens is an architectural and engineering marvel to be enjoyed any time of the year. Visitors can experience a variety of water features as they wander through this relaxing urban park.

Monday, July 24: Tex-Mex Dinner

Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant was established July 4, 1935. This restaurant has been in the family ever since.

Tejas was a province of Mexico between 1821 and 1836. Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821 in its war of independence. Texas became its own country called the Republic of Texas from 1836 until 1845 when it agreed to join the United States.

Thursday, July 27: IGARSS 2017 Award Banquet

The home of the Dallas Cowboys; it’s a world of facts and figures about the world’s largest domed structure, an art museum, and a classroom. We will be having our Awards Banquet in this distinctive structure. Come spend an evening inside AT&T Stadium, honoring GRSS award winners, and join us as we have a special guided tour of the inner workings of this extraordinary building.

Friday, July 28: Rodeo Night at the Stockyards

Every Friday and Saturday evening (8:00 PM) Cowboys compete for standing and for money. Cowtown Coliseum, 121 E Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. The Cowtown Coliseum, the world’s first indoor rodeo and still the best rodeo in America. This is your opportunity to see a “real” Championship rodeo. IGARSS will provide transportation to the stockyards.
